Beginning on Sunday, June 3, North County residents can find fresh and local San Diego grown farm products, including many certified organic options, at the San Marcos Farmers’ Market in parking lot B near Twin Oaks Valley Rd at the Cal State San Marcos campus.
Sponsored by the San Diego County Farm Bureau, the San Marcos Farmers’ Market on Wednesdays and Sundays places priority on offering farmers a space to sell their fresh grown produce. Additionally, a meal is always enhanced with fine prepared foods and many local artisan food creators participate in the market selling everything from sauces and salsas to goat cheese ravioli to rustic European breads hot out of the oven. Local craftspeople and artists are encouraged to bring their art and crafts to the market as well.
A farmers’ market is a weekly community gathering and children are encouraged to come and choose their own fruits and vegetables! Bounce houses, pony rides, and music are all available for the kids.
