About us

Since our open-air farmers’ market opened in June 2008, we have remained dedicated to fostering food justice through enabling all residents to access quality, local food options and supporting local farmers. The City Heights Farmers’ Market is the first farmers’ market in San Diego to welcome food stamps, as well as host a matching program for SSI, WIC, and SNAP participants. Market go-ers frequently cite that their primary reasons for shopping at the market are the fresh, culturally-desirable produce, the opportunity to support local, small farms, and the engaging programming. The City Heights Farmers’ Market continually hosts programming that facilitates cultural exchange and popular education around environmental, community, and wellness issues.
