San Diego County Farm Bureau Permanent Load Shift Technology Program (PLST) Grant Application

San Diego County Farm Bureau has been awarded a $50,000 grant by San Diego Gas and Electric to make available to qualified growers grant awards of 66% cost coverage capped at $5,000 each. These mini-grants are an incentive for growers to install new irrigation technology as part of the Permanent Load Shift Technology Program (PLSTP). The goal of PLSTP is for farmers with high energy use pumps to use data gathered via wired or wireless moisture sensors to shift the times of their pumping and irrigation to off-peak times, saving both money and energy. Data provided by deployed moisture sensors will also help growers achieve more targeted irrigation with a net result of increased water savings and decreased energy use.

Fill out the below application and submit it to San Diego County Farm Bureau to find out if you qualify for a grant. Awards for qualified growers will cover 66% of the total cost of purchase and installation of an approved soil monitoring system, capped at $5,000
