Community Supported Agriculture
CSA or Community Supported Agriculture is sometimes referred to as "Subscription Farms" because the consumer buys a subscription from a farmer for a set price to receive fresh produce on a weekly or bi-weekly basis usually
delivered to your home. There is a direct link between local farmers and consumers with Community Supported Agriculture. By making a financial commitment to a farm, you become a "member" (or "shareholder" or "subscriber") of the CSA
There are many advantages to be gained from a CSA.
- Fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables.
- Your produce is delivered to your home or a location near you.
- You save gas and time.
- You help reduce the carbon footprint caused by shipping imported produce to local grocery stores.
- Your food dollars support local farmers.
